Five hundred fifty innovative designers from 70 countries: these are the figures of the International Fashion Showcase during London Fashion Week in London, organised by the British Council and the British Fashion Council.
The event now in its sixth year, provides for a series of installations sets that exhibit the work of emerging designers from around the world. 2017 Edition theme, which has for the first time the support of Mercedes-Benz, is Local/Global and the winners were announced on February 19 at the Somerset House in London.
Winner of the Ifs 2017 is The designer Designer Award Younchan Chung-sirius for his exceptional work presented within the exhibition of Korea; the designer will be rewarded with a fashion show during Milan fashion week – spring summer 2018 in one of more than 50 global fashion catwalks of Mercedes-Benz for a long time been committed to supporting young talent. The winner will also receive the mentorship by the British Council, the BFC and Mercedes-Benz in the fields of public relations, social media, development and retail.
The International Fashion Showcase 2017 Country Award was awarded to India choice among 26 participating countries for its exhibition "The Indian Pastoralist".
